Escape of water

Leaks and escape of water can be extremely stressful experiences for residents and business operators. We understand this and aim to mitigate damage as much as possible, as well as working rapidly to ensure people can remain in their homes, and businesses can reopen as soon as possible. The path of water throughout property is not always straightforward, and we use a range of moisture metres and imaging cameras to accurately diagnose areas needing attention that might not always be obvious. Water can present a health hazard, so checking areas to ensure they are bacteria free and sanitising where required is important, as well as monitoring moisture levels to ensure hazards like mould cannot develop.

We are proud to offer:
  • Rapid callout across London
  • Moisture testing
  • ATP testing for bacteria
  • Thermal imaging to identify leaks
  • Removal of water
  • Sanitising of services using specialist equipment
  • Air decontamination
  • Advanced drying technology
  • Reports that outline measures taken

Flooding

Flooding can be devastating to families and business operators, with continuity being just one concern. Personal effects can be damaged, and this uncertain time for property owners and tenants needs to be handled with care and tact. Remora can efficiently remove water, strip-out and decontaminate the site, and remove personal effects to be categorised, evaluated and in many cases restored. After drying the property, we can work with approved contractors to re-fit the property and return it to original condition.

Our Restoration Process

1We receive instructions from an insurer or private client and collect some information about the property and posessions in need of restoration. We quickly organise a time to visit the site, that is convenient for any occupiers or owners.
2Our specialist restoration team visits the site and begins to assess the full extent of the situation - an initial report will be produced with a scope of works and a plan of action. Often we are able to begin damage limitation works, such as installing dehumidifiers, on the first visit.
3We return to carry out our plan of action once it has been approved by the insurer or owner - we install targeted drying systemsor carry out moisture investigation and repair as needed.
4We continue to monitor the drying situation with frequent site visits and decommission the equipment once we have returned the property to its pre-incident condition.

Hazardous cleaning and Sewage

Water, when polluted with chemicals, fuel-oil or raw sewage, can prove a hazard to those both living in the proximity to the escape of water, and also to the technician team who mitigate the water damage. Remora technicians are fully trained to tackle black water escapes, and we have excellent connections within the industry and through the Environmernt Agency should we need to bring in specialist advice regarding red water incidents. Remora is dedicated to providing an environmentally friendly restoration, which includes not allowing known hazardous pollutants in water claims to permeate into the water course and environment.

Case study

Major restaurant chain, London SW1

Remora attended this busy restaurant at 0600 to provide an inspection and quote, their bathrooms having been contaminated by a water leak. ATP testing revealed that the water contained sewage and posed a significant health hazard. Removal of waste water and sanitising of the area began immediately, with the vinyl floor being cut up and lifted. We were able to install a temporary floor and after surface testing could open the bathroom to staff by 0830, meaning that the business was able to open for the day.
